now you're telling me you're not nostalgic then give me another word for it you who are so good with words and at keeping things vague because I need some of that vagueness now it's all come back too clearly yes I loved you dearly and if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid

@TheMetalGuy852
Ripper made it better, maybe. The original (Halford) didn’t push the vocals enough.

she is sublime love her music..her lyrics are so profund they touch ones soul
sends one to a nostalgic place
perhaps like a walk in the autumn in Central Park or out at the Hamptons kicking around in the sand.
Love you Joan thanks for the years as I was a little kid while my parents would play your music…and took me to your concerts and I still do now

@tumadoireacht
got lost in translation here on your comment
and yes Elton is the man…
however Elton loves Joan they have shared their coffee time and exchanged much in thought.

ultimate song

One of the saddest and most regretful songs ever made, such Dominance, coming in and out of her life at his whims…so submissive her expecting the heart break and yet always there with open arms…so many relationships like that from both sides of the spectrum.
Love, in all its perceptions.

@demoCP …. eres desagradable! Esa contestacion es despreciable!

tumadoireacht February 1, 2011 at 4:51 am

@MrHurricaneIKE You have to get out of the basement more. I would love to know what a beagle blanker is. Gays have made some of the best music ever—- Tchaikovsky,Elgar,Britten,Bernstein,Copland,Barber-as well as the likes of Elton John and George Michael. The only sin is if a gay person is prevented from being themselves. Jesus was probably gay.

tumadoireacht February 1, 2011 at 5:40 am

@JellyrollHorton It is so tender and precise and hurt and nostalgic and a little bit self indulgent: “the Madonna was yours for free” and how they “could have died then and there” —–Its power to evoke delicious sadness and regret reminds me of the Charles Trenet song “Que-reste-il-de nos amours?”

@ladyfuschia

At least you admit your arrogance.

DiegoElArbol February 1, 2011 at 10:30 am

Her poetry isn’t lousy, Dylan is. “Love song to a stranger” is a much more beautiful lyrics than any of Dylan’s. Besides, Dylan is not a good singer and I’m getting tired of listening old folk Irish & Scottish tunes Dylan shamelessly took. I know I”l get many thumbs down from Dylan’s admirers, but I know what a Poet is and Dylan isn’t one. If Dylan is a poet, then we need another word for John Clare, Robert Herrick, Lord Tennyson, S T Coleridge, Robert Burns etc etc etc
